What is a DYSIS colposcopy examination?
The DYSIS Advanced Cervical Imaging System measures the results of a standard aceto-whitening test performed during colposcopy which indicates abnormal cells. This helps your doctor select biopsy sites to catch abnormal areas early, while they are small and easily treatable. It allows you to watch the examination if you choose, and your doctor can store images and video to monitor your cervical health over time, if needed.
What is the
The DYSISmap is a unique color-coded digital scan of your cervix. Using a color scale, the map indicates any area of the cervix that may have extreme changes. These are the areas that your clinician may want to examine further through biopsy.
Who needs a
After an abnormal cervical screening (smear) test or HPV test, your Doctor may recommend performing a colposcopy examination to look for abnormal cells on your cervix. These cells may indicate inflammation or pre-cancerous changes that could develop into cervical cancer if left undetected and untreated.
